Cass County has many parks, trails, recreational fields and facilities located throughout the county & its communities. Throughout the county are a variety of picnic shelters, playgrounds, recreational/sports fields and wellness/community centers.
The largest communities of Belton, Harrisonville, Peculiar, Pleasant Hill and Raymore all have trail systems that are included in the Regional Trails and Bikeways system maintained by the Mid-America Regional Council. The system also includes the Rock Island Trail State Park currently under development. This new hiking and biking path located in Pleasant Hill will encompass parts of the old Rock Island line. The trail, when completed, will curve through gently sloping farmland and woodlands, proving an abundance of recreation and wildlife viewing opportunities.
